Enter a Project, Phase, and Task for a Timesheet
To enter a project for a timesheet, select it in the Project/Phase/Task Lookup dialog box. If required, you also select a phase and a task when you select a project.
To enter a project:
- In the Navigation pane, go to the My Stuff section and select Timesheet.
- If the timesheet displayed is not the one that you want, use the search field to search for and select the one that you want to update.
-
In the
Project column (or
Project Name column, if the
Project column is not displayed), do either of the following:
- Enter one or more characters from the project number or short or long name to display a list of projects that contain those characters in the Project/Phase/Task Lookup dialog box.
- Click to display a list of all available projects in the Project/Phase/Task Lookup dialog box.
-
If the project you want is not visible in the lookup dialog box, do one or more of the following to locate it:
- Scroll the list until the project is visible.
- In the search field above the grid, enter one or more characters from the project number or short or long name to display only projects that contain those characters.
- Click the column label for the Project column in the lookup dialog box to sort the list in the reverse order. (A sort icon ( or ) displays next to the current sort column.) You can also click the column label for the Name column to sort based on project names.
- When you locate the project that you want, click it to select it.
- If phases exist for the project, select a phase in the list of phases.
- If tasks exist for the phase, select a task in the list of tasks.
- Click Select to enter the project, phase, and task in the timesheet or expense record. If you select a project, task, or phase for which you have not been budgeted, a pop-up dialog displays where you can choose whether or not to keep your selection.
