Copy Planned Hours to a Timesheet

You can populate timesheets with data from projects for which you have planned hours. You can also update another employee's timesheet with new planning data, if you are an administrator with access to other employees' timesheets.

You must have planned hours that fall within the timesheet period. If Treat Inactive Projects as Dormant is set to Yes on the Options tab in Settings > Time, only data from active projects is used.

You can include information from Resource Planning in new or in-progress timesheets. You can update a submitted timesheet with new planning data, if your firm allows you to change submitted timesheets.

To copy planned hours to a timesheet:
  1. In the Navigation pane, go to the My Stuff section and select Timesheet.
  2. If the timesheet displayed is not the one that you want, use the search field to search for and select the one that you want to update.
  3. Click Actions > Copy Planned Hours. The Planned Hours dialog box displays. For each of the employee's assigned projects, the dialog box shows data such as the start and end dates of the assignments, planned hours, job-to-date hours, remaining hours, and hours during the current period. You can reorder, sort, resize, and filter all the columns in the grid.
  4. Click the selection check boxes for the rows you want to copy or click the check box at the top of the column heading to select all rows.
  5. Click Copy to Timesheet. The dialog box closes and the project, phase, task, and labor code for each selected row are entered on the left side of the timesheet. This action is disabled until you select at least one row.
