Columns

Field Description
Tax Type (Inputs/Outputs) This column indicates whether a tax is an input tax, output tax, or both.
Tax Code This column displays the tax code for the transaction.
Tax Code Description This column displays the tax code description.
Tax Code Rate This column displays the tax rate.
Tax Point Date This column displays the transaction date.
Trans Type This column displays the two-letter abbreviation for the type of transaction.
Invoice/Reference Number This column displays the invoice number associated with the transaction. Because a retainage invoice has the same invoice number as the original invoice from which it was withheld, Deltek displays Retainage Billing in the Description column to distinguish it from the original invoice.
Vendor/Client/Employee Name This column displays the vendor, client, or employee name for the transaction. If you selected the Run Report Based on Originating Vendor check box on the Tax Analysis General tab, this field displays the originating vendor's name, instead.
Description 2 This column displays the second line of the description for the transaction.
Fiscal Period This column displays the accounting period in which the transaction was posted.
Post Seq This column displays the posting sequence number for the transaction. Deltek assigns the sequence numbers during the posting process. Deltek assigns 1 to the first group of transactions posted during an accounting period, 2 to the second group, and so on.

To see a numbered list of all of the postings for the current accounting period, click Transaction Center > Posting Review Report.

Project This column displays the project number associated with the transaction. If a transaction is not related to a project, no project number displays. No project number displays for balance sheet account transactions, except for accounts receivable transactions.
Phase This column displays the phase number associated with the transaction.
Task This column displays the task number associated with the transaction.
Tax Account In the Inputs (Purchases) section of the report, this column displays the expense account to which the transaction was posted.

In the Outputs (Sales) section of the report, it displays the credit account for the tax code.

Net Amount/Tax Basis

In the Inputs (Purchases) section of the report, this column displays the net amount for the transaction or tax code. In the Outputs (Sales) section of the report, it displays the tax basis for the transaction or tax code. The tax basis can be either the net amount for the transaction or tax code or, if a compound tax is involved, the net amount plus a tax amount that is subject to the tax.

For invoices from which retainage is withheld, the tax basis includes the retainage if Tax when Withheld is selected under Retainage on the Misc tab of the Billing Terms form. The tax basis does not include retainage if Tax when Invoiced is selected. In that case, the tax on the retainage amount is billed on the retainage invoice when the retainage is due.

If you use multiple currencies, the report can display net amounts, tax basis amounts, and tax amounts in any of the following types of currency: transaction currency, functional currency, or tax currency (if tax auditing is enabled for the company). You specify the type of currency that you want to use in Report in, on the General tab of the Tax Analysis Options dialog box.

Tax Amount This column displays the amount of tax for the transaction.

If you use multiple currencies, you have the option to have the report display net amounts, tax basis amounts, and tax amounts in any of the following types of currency: transaction currency, functional currency, or tax currency (if tax auditing is enabled for the company). You specify the type of currency you want to use in Report in, on the General tab.

Gross Amount This column displays the gross amount of the transaction (Net Amount + Tax Amount).
Currency Code This column displays the currency code for the currency of the transaction.
Vendor/Client/Employee This column displays the vendor, client, or employee ID.
Tax Registration Number This column displays the tax registration number (ID) for the client, vendor, or employee who is associated with the transaction.
Concatenated Address This column displays address of the vendor, client or employee in a combined format.
Recoverable Tax

If you include this column in the Tax Analysis report, this column displays the portion of the transaction's tax amount that is recoverable.

If you use multiple currencies, the report can display net amounts, tax basis amounts, and tax amounts in any of the following types of currency: transaction currency, functional currency, or tax currency (if tax auditing is enabled for the company). You specify the type of currency in Report in on the General tab of the Options for Tax Analysis dialog box.

Non-Recoverable Tax

If you include this column in the Tax Analysis report, this column displays the portion of the transaction's tax amount that is non-recoverable.

If you use multiple currencies, the report can display net amounts, tax basis amounts, and tax amounts in any of the following types of currency: transaction currency, functional currency, or tax currency (if tax auditing is enabled for the company). You specify the type of currency in Report in on the General tab.

Tax Payable If you include this column in the Tax Analysis report, this column displays the payable portion of the input tax for the transaction. If you are using multiple currencies, you have the option to have the report display net amounts, tax basis amounts, and tax amounts in any of the following types of currency: transaction currency, functional currency, or tax currency (if tax auditing is enabled for the company). You specify the type of currency in Report in on the General tab.
Left Margin for First Column

Enter the number of inches or millimeters that you want the first column indented (offset) from the left margin of the page. Use inches or millimeters, based on which one you selected in the Unit of Measure field on the report Layout tab.

To determine the position of the first column, Deltek adds your entry in Left Margin for First Column to the entry in Left Margin on the Layout tab. For example, if you use inches and the Left Margin contains 1.00 and Left Margin for First Column contains .25, Deltek prints the report header information with a 1.00-inch margin but prints the first column 1.25 inches from the left edge of the page.
