Define the Default Date and Time Format for a Report
To accommodate companies located or doing business in countries other than the United States, Deltek provides default date and time format for reports based on your settings in Regional and Language Options in Microsoft Windows. You can then modify the default formats for individual reports and for individual report columns.
To review or change your settings for Windows, display the Windows Control Panel and double-click
Regional and Language Options.
The Layout tab on the Options dialog box for a report displays the default date and time format for the report. That format, in turn, becomes the default format for each date field on the report. You can modify the default format on the Layout tab, and you can modify the format for individual date columns on the Columns tab.
To define the default date format for a report:
- Click the Layout tab on the Options dialog box. The Date field in the Default Formats group box displays the current default format.
- If you want to change the default date format to that for another culture, select the Override regional settings check box and select the culture from the drop-down list in the Override regional settings field. If you select a different culture, Deltek automatically displays the default formats associated with that culture in the Number, Currency, and Date fields.
- If you want to modify the default number format, click in Date to open the Format Date/Time dialog box.
- In Type, indicate if you want the default to be the short, medium, or long date, the date and time combination, or the time.
- If you selected Short date or Short date and time in Type and you want to use the date separator from your Regional and Language Options in Windows, select Use separator from regional settings.
- If you want to use a different separator, clear that check box and select a separator from the drop-down list in Date Separator. If you want to use a separator that is not in the drop-down list, enter the separator character in the field. For date formats other than the short date format, Deltek uses the punctuation specified in your Regional and Language Options for Windows.
- In the Date order field, select the order in which you want to display the day, month, and year components of the date.
- If you do not want dates to include the day, month, or year, clear the Display day, Display month, and/or Display year check boxes.
- If you want dates to display all four digits of the year, select Display four digit year.
- If you want dates to include leading zeros when the days or numerical months are less than 10, select Display leading zeros.
- If the default date includes the time and you want to use the time separator from your Regional and Language Options in Windows, select Use separator from regional settings in the Time Options group box The time separator is the character that separates hours from minutes, and minutes from seconds. If you want to use a different separator, clear that check box and select a separator from the drop-down list in Time Separator. If you want to use a separator that is not in the drop-down list, type the separator character in the field.
- If you want times displayed based on a 24-hour clock, select 24-hour clock (1:00 p.m. displays as 13:00).
- If you want an a.m. or p.m. indicator displayed as part of the time , select Display AM/PM. Deltek uses the a.m. and p.m. indicators specified in your Regional and Language Options for Windows.
- Click OK to return to the Options dialog box.
- After you set all report options, click Apply.
