Contents of the Format Number Dialog Box

Use the Format Number dialog box to select and set options for modifying default non-currency number formats for reports and other Deltek KUMQUAT output.

Field Description
Type Indicate if you want the format to be a number or a percentage. If you select Percent, Deltek adds a percent sign (%) to each number.
Sample This field displays the formats for positive numbers, negative numbers, and zero. As you select formatting options, Deltek updates these samples based on your selections.
Use default number of decimal places Select this option to use the default number of decimal places. To use a different number of decimal places, clear that check box and specify the number of decimal places in Decimal places. (Note that in some cases, Deltek uses a fixed number of decimal places for a report column. If you specify a different number, it has no effect on those columns.)
Decimal places If you do not select Use default number of decimal places, select or enter the number of decimal places in Decimal places. (Note that in some cases, Deltek uses a fixed number of decimal places for a report column. If you specify a different number, it has no effect on those columns.)
Digit grouping Select from the following digital grouping options:
  • 123456789: Deltek does not group digits.
  • Default grouping: Deltek groups digits using the default grouping for the applicable culture. For example, if the culture for the report displayed in the Override regional settings field on the Layout tab is English (United States), this option is 123,456,789.
Negative number Specify how you want to indicate negative numbers:
  • Sign on front: A minus sign displays before the number.
  • Sign on back: A minus sign displays after the number.
  • Parentheses: The number displays within parentheses.
Zero number Specify how you want to indicate zero values: display 0, display a short dash (-), or leave the space blank.
