Establish the Default Project Payroll Tax Locale Information

If your enterprise uses the Follow Project Locale option, Deltek uses the Payroll Tax Locale from the posted timesheet to determine the taxable pay basis.

Prerequisite: Before you select a project payroll tax locale, you must establish enterprise-wide withholding codes in Payroll Withholding Setup.

To establish default project payroll tax locale information:

  1. On the Navigation menu, click Hubs > Projects.
  2. Open the project and click the Time & Expense tab of the Projects hub form.
  3. In the Payroll Locale field, select the locale to associate with the project. The options for this field correspond to all locales associated with withholding codes of State or Local type from the Payroll Withholding Setup form.
  4. Click Save. If you want to establish different locales at the phase or task level for a project with multiple levels of work breakdown structure, proceed to the next step.
  5. Open the Phase/Task lookup, select the phase or task where you want to establish a tax locale, and click OK.
  6. In the Payroll Tax Locale field on the Time & Expense tab of the Projects hub form, enter the phase or task payroll tax locale.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Repeat steps 5-7 for each phase or task that you want to associate with a Payroll Tax Locale.
