Customize the Navigation Menu
You can customize the Navigation menu to suit your company's needs. You can add new menu items, rearrange existing menu items, or delete menu items. The changes that you make apply to all users.
To customize your Navigation menu:
- Click Navigation Menu Designer at the bottom right of the Navigation menu on the desktop application.
-
On the Navigation Menu Designer dialog box, add new menu items:
- Go to the area on the tree where you want to add a menu item.
- Right-click the item and select Insert before or Insert after. For example, if you want to add an item after Employees in the hubs, click Employees and then select Insert after. A new menu item called new node displays.
- Select the item and complete the applicable fields.
- To rename menu items, select the menu item that you want to change and enter the new label in the Menu Label field. Limit the length of the label. If it is too long, it will "wrap" in the Navigation menu.
-
To rearrange menu items:
- Right-click the item that you want to move and select Cut from the menu.
- Go to the item/area on the menu where you want to move it.
- Right-click the item and select Paste before or Paste after from the menu. For example, if you want to move an item after Period Setup in Utilities, click Period Setup and select Paste after.
- To indent or outdent any item beneath a parent item, right-click the item and select Indent or Outdent on the shortcut menu.
- To delete an item, right-click the item and select Delete from the shortcut menu. You can only delete user-defined menu items. You cannot delete standard items. To restrict users so that they cannot see a particular standard menu item, use Security.
- Click OK.
