Contents of the Dashboard Designer Form

Use the fields and options in the Dashboard Designer form to create or modify your dashboard.

Field Description
Dashboard Search Use this field to locate your saved dashboards that you want to view or modify. Click the drop-down arrow on the right side of the field to select a dashboard from the list of all saved dashboards. You can enter a dashboard name in the search field to filter the list of dashboards.
+ New Dashboard Click this option to create a new dashboard. If you have an open dashboard, the sandbox area is cleared.
or While the detail view of the Dashboard Designer is displayed, is also displayed and can be found beside + New Dashboard . While the list view is displayed, the icon is replaced with instead. Click to display the list view or click to display the detail view of the Dashboard Designer.
Dashboard Title Click on the right side of Dashboard Title to enter a name for your dashboard. The icon displays when you move the mouse cursor over the field.
Save Click Save to save the changes made to the dashboard that you worked on.
Copy Click Copy to create a copy of the dashboard that is currently displayed in the Dashboard Designer form. A confirmation dialog box opens when you click this option.
Delete Click Delete to delete the dashboard that is currently displayed in the Dashboard Designer form. A confirmation dialog box opens when you click this option.
Share Click Share to display the Share this Dashboard dialog box where you select the employees or roles that can access the dashboard that is currently displayed in the Dashboard Designer form.
Dashparts Pane The Dashparts pane is found on the left side of the Dashboard Designer form. The pane can be displayed when you click or hidden when you click .
  • + Add New Dashpart: Displays the Add Dashpart dialog box where you can create a table dashpart. You can create a table dashpart based on the following available dashpart bases:
    • Opportunity: Displays information that is available from the Opportunities hub.
    • Project: Displays project name and ID from the Projects hub.
  • Existing Dashparts: Displays a list of saved table dashparts and system dashparts. Icons on the left side of the dashpart title differentiate dashparts:
    • : Represents table dashparts.
    • : Represents table dashparts that use the report dashpart base.
    • : Represents system dashparts.
    Click and drag the dashparts to the sandbox area to include the dashpart in the dashboard.
Sandbox Area This area is found on the right side of the Dashboard Designer form. Use the area to design dashboards by adding dashparts and moving them around to layout the dashboard. Add dashparts by dropping the dashparts that you clicked and dragged from the Dashparts pane to the sandbox area. Change the layout of the dashparts by dragging dashparts in the order that you prefer within the sandbox area. Customize the dashboard further when you resize table dashparts, but note that system dashparts have a fixed size. Click and drag the bottom right corner of a table dashpart to resize it.
