Reassign a Consultant Type Assignment in a Project Plan

If you assign a consultant type to a work breakdown structure (WBS) element in a project plan and later want to change the assignment to another consultant type or vendor, you can do so from the Consultants tab of the Projects form. You can also change the vendor for an consultant type assignment.

To reassign a consultant type assignment to another consultant type or vendor:

1. In the Navigation pane, go to the Hubs section and click Projects.
2. Select the project for which you want to make the reassignment.
3. Switch the Project/Plan toggle to Plan.
4. On the Actions menu, click Check Out.
5. Click the Consultants tab.
6. Expand the WBS to display the consultant type assignment row that you want to reassign.
7. Hover over or click that row and click at the end of the row.
8. Click Reassign.

   Result: The Add Consultant Types dialog box displays.

9. To reassign to a different consultant type, select that consultant type in Consultant Type.
10. To reassign to a different vendor, select that vendor in Vendor Name.
11. Click Reassign.
    Deltek does the following:

    • Reassigns the planned amount to the consultant type and vendor that you selected.
    • Deletes the original assignment. (The original assignment is not deleted if an actual job-to-date (JTD) amount exists for that assignment, or if that assignment was saved as part of the plan baseline.)
