Enter Summary Planned Hours in Project Planning
To have Deltek allocate summary planned hours to individual resource assignments for a project on the Labor tab on the Projects form, select the project, and enter the summary hours in the ETC Hours field at the appropriate level of the work breakdown structure (WBS).
To enter and allocate summary planned hours:
- In the Navigation pane, go to the Hubs section and click Projects.
- Select the project for which you want to enter summary hours.
- Switch the Project/Plan toggle to Plan.
- On the Actions menu, click Check Out.
- Click the Labor tab.
- If Show is set to Amounts, select Hours instead.
- Expand the WBS to display the WBS element for which you which you want to enter summary hours.
- Click the row to display the entry fields.

Enter the hours in the
ETC Hours field, and tab or click out of the field.
Result: Deltek allocates the hours to calendar periods for that assignment row, for each lower-level WBS row, and for the resource rows. Only calendar periods that include at least one work day that is later than the current date receive allocations.
A short delay may occur while the allocation is carried out. If any WBS or resource rows are displayed below the row for which you entered the hours, they are collapsed. To see the allocated hours, expand the structure again.
