- Searching for
Projects and
Opportunities
To locate and display a project or opportunity plan in Project View or for project resource management reports, use one of the standard saved searches to limit the number of projects and opportunities in the selection list, or create and apply your own custom search. - Entering Planned Hours for Calendar Periods
In the labor planning grids, use the calendar period columns to enter planned hours for a resource assignment for specific days, weeks, or months. As the work progresses, you can also use those columns to adjust the estimate-to-complete (ETC) hours for the assignment. - Entering Summary Planned Hours
When you enter planned hours for resources in Resource View or Project View or on the Labor tab of the Projects form, an alternative to entering them calendar period by calendar period is to enter the sum of hours for a range of dates, let Deltek allocate those hours across the calendar periods, and then make any necessary changes. - What Happens When You Reassign Work from One Resource to Another
If you assign work on a project to an employee or generic resource and later want to transfer all or part of the assignment hours to another resource (for example, from a generic resource to a new employee you have just hired for the project), you can reassign them from Resource View, Project View, or the Labor tab of the Projects form. What happens when you make a reassignment depends on the options you choose in the Reassign dialog box - Checking Out and Checking In Project Plans
To make changes to a project plan, that plan must first be checked out to you. While you have it checked out, other users cannot make changes to the plan. How you check out a plan, however, depends on where in Deltek you access it.
