Standalone Resource Planning
When your only activated module is Resource Planning, the only hub that you can access is the Projects hub, which has a limited set of read-only tabs and fields.
Importing Your Data
You need to export all the data you maintain in your ERP environment and then import that data into Deltek Standalone Resource Planning. To do this, you can use either the Deltek import utility or API. To use the import utility, in the Navigation pane, go to the Hubs section and select Utilities.
You cannot edit any of the imported data. For example, if you need to update projects, WBS, or fields, you must do so in the environment where you maintain your projects, such as Costpoint, and then re-import.
Actions Available in the Projects Hub
When you use Standalone Resource Planning, you have access only to a limited set of actions and data in the Projects Hub. Here’s a summary of the differences you’ll see in the Projects Hub:
- You cannot access the Invoices tab, Dates and Costs tab, Activities tab, or Proposal Notes tab.
- You cannot create or copy projects, phases, or tasks. You can, however, delete projects.
- The only fields that are visible are those that contain imported data.
- You cannot edit any fields in Project mode except user defined fields.
- You cannot edit any fields in Plan mode except fee fields on the Contract tab, but only if you have configured FILESTREAM.
- There are no row tools available for any grid.
- You cannot add Touchpoints.
- You cannot open the Deltek Desktop Application to access Project Review, Billing Terms, Invoice Review, or Accounts Receivable Reporting.
Deleting Projects
When your only activated product is standalone Resource Planning, although you cannot update any project data, you do have the ability to delete projects, phases, and tasks. When you delete a project, phase, or taskDeltek deletes all of the project, phase, or task information, history, and planning data.
