Contents of the Request Absence Dialog Box

Use this dialog box to enter and submit absence requests for vacation, sick leave, and so on for approval.

Field Description
Type From the drop-down list, select the type of absence request you are entering, such as vacation or sick leave. The items in the list are based on the benefit accrual codes that are entered on the Absence Accrual Setup tab in Settings > Advanced Accounting > Time Analysis in the desktop application.
Calendar This section displays monthly calendars. Use the scroll left and scroll right arrows to see different months and click to return to the current month. Dates that have been selected are color-coded to indicate their status as indicated in the legend below the calendar.
Date Requested/Hours Grid This grid displays a row for each requested date. The Date Requested column displays absence request dates. This Hour column displays the hours requested for the corresponding date. It is prefilled with your standard hours for the day, but you can enter a new value. You can delete a row by clicking at the right side of the row.
+ Add Request Date Click this field to specify a start and end date for your absence request.
Total Hours Requested This field displays the total hours requested for the absence. If the total hours requested exceed the current balance, these hours display in red.
Current Balance This field displays the hours available for the selected absence type.
Comment Enter any comments in this field.
Submit After you enter absence request information and select dates in this dialog box, click this button to submit an absence request for approval. You must select at least one day of absence before you can submit the request.
