Data Item |
Description |
Amount at Risk |
Amount that is at risk for the risk reason as of the current fiscal period. |
% Change Since <preceding period> |
Percentage of change in the at-risk amount since the preceding fiscal period: (Current amount at risk – Prior amount at risk) / Prior amount at risk Positive values indicate an increase in the amount at risk. Negative values indicate a decrease. The direction of the arrow to the right of the column also indicates the direction of the change, and the color of the arrow indicates the alert status of the risk: acceptable (green), cautionary (yellow), or urgent (red). |
Number of Projects |
The number of risk-level projects that are at-risk for the risk reason as of the current fiscal period. |
The calculation of at-risk amounts and the number of at-risk projects is different for each risk reason. To learn more about the calculations for individual risk reasons, see Available Risk Reasons.
To determine the summary projects at risk data displayed on the Summary Dashboard tab, Costpoint Analytics identifies the risk-level projects that are at risk for each risk reason, calculates the projects' at-risk amounts, and then rolls up both the at-risk amounts and the counts of at-risk projects.
If one of the risk reasons is profit-related (for example, Profit under Budget) and you change the selected profit type option in the Profit summary area, the data for that risk reason is recalculated based on the newly selected option and the name of the risk reason displayed in the table changes accordingly (to Gross Profit under Budget, for example, if you select Gross Profit).
The projects at risk summary data is always as of the current fiscal period. It is not affected by the analysis period you select on the Summary Dashboard tab.
Your selections on the User Options tab affect the projects at risk summary in the following ways:

Effect on the Analytics |
Budget Type |
If you select Baseline Budget, the baseline budget data is used to calculate risks that involve comparison to budget. If you select Forecast, the forecast data is used for those risks. The risk reason descriptions change to reflect the type of budget data (for example, Costs over Budget or Costs over Forecast). |
