If you load data into Costpoint Analytics and later need to remove some of that data, follow the procedures described here.
The following are two examples of when you would remove existing data:
If you limit the actual and budget data available in Costpoint Analytics to the current fiscal year and a set number of prior years, you will need to remove the data for a fiscal year once it becomes too old.
If you want to change the type of rates used to calculate revenue in Costpoint Analytics from actual rates to target rates, or the reverse, Deltek recommends that you remove all actual performance data and do a full data load after you change the Revenue Type for All Analytics setting in Costpoint Analytics – Project Configuration.
To remove budget or proposal attributes data, complete the following steps:
In Microsoft Excel, open the budget data file or the Proposal Attributes file.
Delete the spreadsheet rows that contain the data you want to remove.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each data file from which you want to remove data.
Do one of the following:
If you only need to load the updated budget or proposal data, run the Reload_All_Budget_Data_Only.bat file to load the updated budget data.
If you need to load both budget or proposal data and data from Costpoint, run the Full_CpA_Data_Load.bat file or one of the other data load .bat files.
Actual performance data that you load from Costpoint resides in Costpoint Analytics in .qvd files in two folders:
<installation location>\Analytics\QVDs\Raw
<installation location>\Analytics\QVDs\Transform
To remove actual performance data, complete the following steps:
Delete all .qvd files from the Raw and Transform folders.
For both Costpoint Analytics – Project and Costpoint Analytics – Employee, set the Current Period and Historical Data Load configuration options based on the fiscal periods that you want to make available in Costpoint Analytics.
Make any other configuration changes that you want.
Run the Full_CpA_Data_Load.bat file to do a full data load.
