Accessibility of First Period (Project Analytics)

Purpose

Use the Accessibility of First Period options to indicate if you want the data for the earliest fiscal period that you load into Costpoint Analytics to be displayed.

The purpose of this option is to give you control of how the beginning backlog amounts appear in the Backlog Analytics. When you begin using Costpoint Analytics, there is no historical data prior to the earliest fiscal period you include in the load process. As a result, the beginning backlog for that earliest period is 0, and the inception-to-date contract amounts and funding amounts that are loaded for that period come in as new contracts and new funding. If you are concerned that this startup data may be confusing to those using the analytics, you can set up Costpoint Analytics so that the earliest period cannot be displayed.

This setting affects your ability to display data for the earliest historical period for all Costpoint Analytics - Project analytics. However, the primary impact is on the detailed Backlog Analytics.

Initial Configuration

In Display First Period Data, select one of the following options:

Before you load the initial data, make sure that data has been generated in the PSR_FINAL_DATA table in Costpoint for all projects for the earliest fiscal period that you are loading. If PSR_FINAL_DATA does not contain data for a project for the earliest period, the backlog calculation for the project will not be correct, whether or not you make data for that period available for display.

Ongoing Administration

Normally, you do not change this setting after the initial configuration.
