Current Period (Employee Analytics)

Purpose

The selection in Actuals Up Through under Current Period determines the fiscal periods for which Costpoint Analytics uses actual performance data. Costpoint Analytics displays actual performance data for fiscal periods up to and including the period you select.

This setting applies to the detailed Labor Utilization Analytics. Costpoint Analytics displays the current period in the top-left corner of the Labor Utilization tab.

This setting also applies to the summary Labor Utilization Analytics in Costpoint Analytics – Summary. The summary analytics provide a high-level view of labor utilization as of the end of the current period. The current period for these summary analytics is displayed in the Labor Utilization summary analytic area on the Summary Dashboard tab.

Before you click Update from Costpoint or Previous Configuration to populate the lists on the Employee Analytics Configuration tab, replace the default date in Actual Up Through with any date that falls in a valid fiscal period in Costpoint. If you do not do this, Costpoint Analytics displays an error during the update process. You can, however, ignore the error and the update process will run successfully.

Project Analytics

You select a separate current period for project analytics in Costpoint Analytics – Project Configuration that applies to both the detailed project analytics and the summary project analytics in Costpoint Analytics – Summary. The two current periods need not be the same.

Initial Configuration

For the initial configuration, select the latest fiscal period for which actual performance data is available in Costpoint. This period need not match the current period in Costpoint, but it must be a period for which actual performance data exists.

Ongoing Maintenance

When actual performance data is available for a new fiscal period in Costpoint, select that period in Actuals Up Through, set Number of Periods Back to 1, and then continue with the remainder of the data load process so that the actual performance data for that period is available in Costpoint Analytics.

If you load data from Costpoint more than once during a fiscal period, you only need to change this setting the first time you prepare to load data for a new fiscal period. (For more information on loading labor utilization data more frequently than once each period, see Loading Labor Utilization Data More Frequently.)
