Choosing Your Authentication Model

Your company should use one of the supported Single Sign On (SSO) models for authentication into your cloud solution.

Deltek supports the followings SSO models: ADFS, MS Azure, and Okta.

Instructions to set up SSO can be found by clicking Help > Release Notes (while in Costpoint) and navigating to the Technical Guides section.

As a SaaS Customer Administrator, you are also provided with a set of credentials in User Manager. User Manager is described below and can be thought of as your cloud Active Directory. You should retain these credentials as a secondary way to authenticate into your cloud solution in the event that your company's SSO service experiences a disruption in service.

Any user who requires Citrix access is required to have User Manager credentials. A limited number of users in your company should require Citrix access. Citrix is required if the user plans to access the CER Framework models or use SQL Server Management Studio.

In the event that your company does not use SSO, Deltek provides customers with User Manager, a cloud Active Directory, to manage user credentials. Deltek also provides a Self Service tool which enables users to manage their cloud credentials.

User Manager

As the SaaS Customer Administrator you have administrative rights to User Manager. User Manager is used to manage your employee's user credentials. As a SaaS Customer Administrator, you can manually enter your company's employees into User Manager, or you can follow the Bulk-Load instructions and request Deltek to load users into User Manager.

Tip: After creating an employee's account in User Manager, you must also enter the user's username into the application (that is, Costpoint) that the user needs to access.

You can access User Manager via the following link on you Cloud Portal. You will be required to set up Two Factor Authentication to access User Manager.
