Auto-Post Options

The Auto-Post Options tab contains configuration information for automatic timesheet posting for FLSA-exempt employees in selected applications. By selecting Auto-Approval mode, Dela will compare the employee’s current timesheet to previous timesheets and automatically post it if it does not materially differ from their historical timesheets. When you select Recommend , Dela will make a recommendation for posting, based on a comparison with the employee’s historical timesheets but will not actually post. Setting the Auto-Post Mode to Disable will turn off auto-posting for the timesheet cycle.

When either Auto-Approval or Recommend is selected, you must enter a number for the Dela Confidence Factor and which applications will perform the auto-post analysis. The Dela Confidence Factor allows you to specify how certain the system should be before accepting a match between an employee’s current timesheet data and the employee’s historical timesheet data. This setting is a value between 1 and 100.
- Low Confidence Level (e.g., 1): The system will accept matches even if it is not very sure. This might result in more matches, but some could be less similar to the historical data.
- High Confidence Level (e.g., 100): The system will only accept matches when it is very sure. This might result in fewer matches, but they will closely resemble the historical data.

Adjust this setting based on how closely you need the results to match the historical data. Higher values mean more similarity, while lower values mean more flexibility in variation.

The Failed Posting Email Notification Address is required when the Auto-Post Mode is Auto-Approval. Any posting reports will be saved on the Print Archived Reports screen.

FieldDescription
Auto-Post Mode

Select the mode to be used for timesheet auto-posting. Auto-posting is the automatic posting of timesheets within certain parameters. This drop-down field was added as part of the auto-closing process.

There are three options:

  • Recommend
  • Disable
  • Auto-Approval.

When Auto-Approval or Recommend is selected, Dela will compare an employee’s current timesheet to the employee’s historical timesheets to score how closely it matches prior timesheet. Dela compares the timesheet’s score to Dela Confidence Factor number to determine if it should be selected for auto-posting. A higher confidence factor indicates that the timesheet must have a very close match to prior timesheets while a lower confidence factor indicates that there can be some differences between them.

Auto-Approval will allow Dela to automatically post any timesheets approved by Dela. Recommend means that Dela will not automatically post the timesheet but will make a recommendation based on the Dela Confidence Factor. You may then review the timesheets before posting. Disable turns off the auto-post functionality so it is not used by the system.

Auto-posting may be used for timesheet cycles where the employees normally work a regular schedule that does not vary and few or no edits are required in the Labor module.

Dela Confidence Factor

The Dela Confidence Factor allows you to specify how certain the system should be before accepting a match between an employee’s current timesheet data and the employee’s historical timesheet data. This setting is a value between 70 to 100.

  • Low Confidence Level (e.g., 70): The system will accept matches even if it is not very sure. This might result in more matches, but some could be less similar to the historical data.
  • High Confidence Level (e.g., 100): The system will only accept matches when it is very sure. This might result in fewer matches, but they will closely resemble the historical data.

Adjust this setting based on how closely you need the results to match the historical data. Higher values mean more similarity, while lower values mean more flexibility in variation.

This field is only enabled when the Auto-Post Mode is set to Recommend or Auto-Approval.

Posting Error Email Addresses

This field is required when the Auto-Post Mode is set to Auto-Approval. If an error causes a timesheet posting failure, an email notification will be sent to the listed email addresses.
