Assign PLCs Subtask
Use the Assign PLCs subtask to assign PLCs to project/employee combinations.
One, and only one, PLC must be designated as the default PLC for each project/employee combination. Optionally, specify a date range to define when the employee is eligible to charge the PLC.
Once a PLC assignment is saved, it cannot be deleted from this subtask. Deletion is only available on the Manage Employee Workforce screen. However, you can edit the Default PLC, Start Date, and End Date fields on an existing assignment.
The following are the restrictions of this feature:
- A PLC can only be assigned to a project/employee combination if that PLC has already been linked to the project on the Link Project Labor Categories to Projects screen.
- This subtask is only available if the Allow workforce assignments in Manage Employee Information checkbox is selected on the Configure Projects Settings screen.

| PLC Description | This field displays the name of the selected PLC. |
| Default PLC | Select this checkbox to have this PLC default into the timesheet when the employee charges time to the project. Since you can set up multiple PLCs for each project/employee combination, you must specify which PLC is the timesheet default. For any given project/employee combination, there must be at least one PLC with this checkbox selected. If this checkbox is clear, the PLC does not default, but is available from when you enter employee timesheets. This field does not affect employee labor entered via journal entries, since PLC defaults are not offered for journal entries. |
| Start Date | Enter, or click  to select, the starting date of this workforce record. If the Default PLC checkbox is selected, this field will be automatically cleared and disabled since dates cannot be assigned to the default PLC. |
