Use this screen to establish location IDs for each warehouse, which will be used by Costpoint Inventory to determine where inventory is stored.
Establish locations when initializing Costpoint Inventory, following the setup of warehouses, and before processing inventory transactions.
Use this block to enter warehouse location information.
Enter, or click to select, the warehouse ID to which to assign location IDs. The warehouse ID must already be established in the Warehouse table. The warehouse description displays in the unlabeled field to its right.
Enter a location ID for this warehouse. The location ID structure for this warehouse is established on the Manage Warehouses screen.
Enter a description for the location ID.
Select a type of location for this location ID from the drop-down list. Location type is a system-defined code used to classify inventory records by locations. The available options are as follows:
Incoming Inspection — This location contains parts that have been received but not accepted or rejected.
MRB — This location contains parts being reviewed by the Materials Review Board. The MRB type and the Incoming Inspection type are used in a similar fashion.
On-Hand — This location contains parts that are available for use.
Reinspection — This location contains parts that have already been accepted or rejected but need to go back through that process.
Shipping — This location contains parts that have been removed from stock for shipping. The Shipping type and the On Hand type are used in a similar fashion.
On-Hold — This location contains parts that should not be counted as available.
Select this check box to indicate that the location warehouse is active. This defaults to selected, otherwise clear the check box if the warehouse location is inactive.
