Use this screen to establish provisional part type codes and their descriptions. You must establish provisional part type codes and their descriptions on this screen before using them when you define provisional parts on the Maintain Provisional Parts screen.
When you access this screen for the first time, it displays two system-defined provisional part types: MFG (Manufacturer Part) and VEN (Vendor Part). You can define additional types.
Click to add a new line, then enter the type code. The application displays an error message if you attempt to enter a duplicate code.
Enter a description of the part type.
Use the drop-down list to indicate what you want to display when you add a provisional part for this part type. Valid options are:
Manufacturer — Select this option to classify this provisional part type as a manufacturer.
Vendor — Select this option to classify this provisional part type as a vendor.
This value allows you to look up existing manufacturer or vendor part numbers when adding a provisional part.
