Use this screen to establish the rules and default values for Materials Estimating. Review the settings on this screen before using any of the proposal, proposal bill of material (PBOM), product item costing, or request for quote (RFQ) functions in Materials Estimating.
Use this group box to specify the types of data that Costpoint should identify as potential cost sources for proposal items. You can also specify whether or not certain cost data values can be excluded based on their age. Except for the Include Archived PO History and Rollup Purchasing Line Charges in Unit Costs check boxes, most of the settings in this group box default to the proposal record, and you can override them for the proposal on the Details tab of the Manage Proposals screen. The settings in this group box also affect the Compute Proposal Item Costs process.

Use this group box to define which component parts are loaded for a given proposal line on the Manage Proposal BOM Cost Estimates - Indented and Manage Proposal BOM Cost Estimates - Summarized screens. Before working with cost estimates, you must establish PBOM component rows on the Manage Proposal Bills of Material screen. Select from this group box the PBOM components you want to include in the costing process.

Select this check box to include components below a stop-explosion part in PBOMs and cost calculations. If you do not select this check box, and the Stop Explosion field for the component part on the Manage Proposal Bills of Material screen is Y, Costpoint will load only the component, and not its lower-level components, when displaying and costing PBOM rows.
Select this check box to include "omit requirements" components in PBOMs and cost calculations.
