Use this screen to complete a workflow activity.
This subtask consists of a form view screen to enter some completion details for an activity by option for the workflow case, and a table window in which to enter a value for each label, each useable as follows:
Use the form view screen to enter an option for the workflow activity and optional completion notes.
Use the table window to enter values or to modify values for case labels defined in the workflow activity.
Note: This Complete Activity screen also displays in the same format and with the same functionality when the Complete Activity subtask link is accessed from the Monitor Workflow Status screen. |
Use this screen to enter completion details when a workflow activity is complete.
You can complete an activity through a Costpoint function only if you are working within Workflow. The Complete Activity subtask is active in a Costpoint function if you start the function via the Workflow Activity and Message Inboxes or Monitor Workflow Status screens; otherwise, it is inactive.
After the activity is completed, it will no longer display in the Activity and Message Inboxes screen, but, will display with a completed checkmark in the Monitor Workflow Status screen.
Before you enter completion data in this screen for a specific activity, make certain that you have completed all the work for that activity. If you inadvertently complete
the activity, any additional work for the activity must be performed outside
of the workflow environment. |
The system displays the workflow identifier in this non-editable field.
The system displays the workflow case that you are completing in this non-editable field.
The system displays the workflow activity that you are completing in this non-editable field.
A specific option for the workflow case activity that you are completing displays in this non-editable field.
Enter up to 254 alphanumeric characters to enter any notes regarding the completion of this activity.
Use this pushbutton to complete the activity and save the data.
The following special circumstances are associated with this action:
If this activity is the only incomplete activity of the workflow, the entire workflow as a whole will be considered complete.
The system will automatically change the status of the workflow from "In-Progress" to "Complete" and will store the completion date/time.
If there are other incomplete activities for the workflow case and these activities are not required, the system will prompt you to mark the workflow case as "Complete."
If you complete the Workflow case, no other activities can be routed, started, or completed. for this case.
The key fields unique to the workflow case display in this non-editable field.
Labels are defined in Costpoint client/server in the Define Case Labels screen (Others\Workflow\Design.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, up to 30 alphanumeric characters to designate a value for the label of the completed activity.
Alternately, use Lookup to review the available valid values in the Valid Values drop-down box in the Define Case Labels screen in Costpoint client/server (Others\Workflow\Design). The following are valid entries:
All - Enter any meaningful value.
User-Defined - Must be a user-defined value set up in the Values subtask of the Define Case Labels screen in Costpoint client/server (Others\Workflow\Design).
System - Must be a value from the system table and field associated with the label.
User-defined or system values retrieved using Lookup - If you selected "All" from the Valid Values drop-down box in the Define Case Labels screen in Costpoint client/server (Others\Workflow\Design), the Lookup icon is inactive; otherwise, Lookup is active.
Note: If you are using role filters, changing a date in the Value field may cause activities and messages to be routed differently. Changing a value may alsochange the case value of previously routed activities. |
