Printing Defaults

What can I do in this tab?

Use the fields in this tab to enter the user's default web printer settings and locale preferences.

When should I use this tab?

Use this tab to add new user data or to edit existing user information.

If you plan to assign a default locale to a user in this screen, you must first enter locale information in the Report Locales screen (Administration\Maintain\Reports).

If you plan to assign a default printer to a user in this screen, you must first establish a "catalog" of printers installed in the Actuate report server that will be available for selection when printing reports from Costpoint web.  You can do this in the System Printers screen (Administration\Maintain\Printers).

Field Descriptions

Default Printing Settings

Use the fields in this block to establish a default printer ID, page and margin defaults, and a default locale for the user.

Default Printer ID  

Enter, or use Lookup to select, a default printer for the user.

Once printers are added to the Actuate report server outside of Costpoint web, the system administration adds the desired printers in the System Printers screen to make them available for Costpoint web reporting.

The Lookup for this field displays printers already made available to Costpoint web reporting (Administration\Maintain\Printers\System Printers).

Note:  This user may already have been linked to one or more printers in the Assigned Users/User Groups table window in the System Printers screen (Administration\Maintain\Printers\System Printers).

Default Page Size

Use the fields in this group box to establish user-specific page and margin defaults.  

Defaults for many of these fields can also be established in the System Settings screen (Administration\Configure\System). In the circumstance that default data is set up both for the company in System Settings and for the user in this screen for the same field, the system will first look to the user-specific data over the company-specific data.

Page Size

Select a default page size option for this user from the drop-down box.

You can choose from these options:  "None," "Letter," "A4," or "Custom."

Select "Letter" or "A4" papers as the default size for standard reports.  Default values automatically display for the page height, width, and margin fields.

If you select "Custom," you will need to manually enter page height, width, and margin data.

User-specific data takes priority over company-specific data for this field.  If you entered default data for this field in the Administration\Configure\System Settings screen, the system uses the user default data entered here in place of the company default data.

Unit of Measure

Select a default unit of measure option from the drop-down box. You can choose from these options:  "None," "Inches," or "Millimeters."

User-specific data takes priority over company-specific data for this field.  If you entered default data for this field in the Administration\Configure\System Settings screen, the system uses the user default data entered here in place of the company default data.

Top Margin

If you selected "Letter" or "A4" as the default size for standard reports in the Page Size field, the correct default value automatically displays in this field.

If you selected "Custom" as the default size for standard reports in the Page Size field, enter the top margin of the paper, based on your selection in the Unit of Measure field drop-down box.

User-specific data takes priority over company-specific data for this field.  If you entered default data for this field in the Administration\Configure\System Settings screen, the system uses the user default data entered here in place of the company default data.

Bottom Margin

If you selected "Letter" or "A4" as the default size for standard reports in the Page Size field, the correct default value automatically displays in this field.

If you selected "Custom" as the default size for standard reports in the Page Size field, enter the bottom margin of the paper, based on your selection in the Unit of Measure field drop-down box.

User-specific data takes priority over company-specific data for this field.  If you entered default data for this field in the Administration\Configure\System Settings screen, the system uses the user default data entered here in place of the company default data.

Left Margin

If you selected "Letter" or "A4" as the default size for standard reports in the Page Size field, the correct default value automatically displays in this field.

If you selected "Custom" as the default size for standard reports in the Page Size field, enter the left margin of the paper, based on your selection in the Unit of Measure field drop-down box.

Right Margin

If you selected "Letter" or "A4" as the default size for standard reports in the Page Size field, the correct default value automatically displays in this field.

If you selected "Custom" as the default size for standard reports in the Page Size field, enter the right margin of the paper, based on your selection in the Unit of Measure field drop-down box.

Page Height

If you selected "Letter" or "A4" as the default size for standard reports in the Page Size field, the correct default values automatically display in this field.

Delivery Options Enabled For This User

Print

Select this checkbox to enable users to print reports on network printers.

Download

Select this checkbox to enable users to download report files.

Archive

Select this checkbox to enable users to archive report files.

Print to File

Select this checkbox to enable users to print reports to a file.

Email

Select this checkbox to enable users to email report files.

Company Access

Select this subtask link to open the Company Access screen.

Assigned User Groups

Select this subtask link to open the Assigned User Groups screen.

Module Rights

Select this subtask link to open the Module Rights screen.

Application Rights

Select this subtask link to open the Application Rights screen.
