Report Groups

What can I do in this screen?

 Use the fields in these table windows to set up logical groups of reports for the purpose of applying report archive security rights, as desired.

The setup of report groups in this screen is optional. You should establish report groups only if you want to assign report archive security rights that will override the module/application/result set/action/report rights that you assigned to users/user groups during initialization.

Note:  Module/application/result set/action/report rights are assigned to users/user groups in the Administration\Maintain\Users\Users and Administration\Maintain\Users\User Groups screens.

Report archive security rights to modify or view an existing archived report are established in the Report Archive Security Rights screen (Administration\Maintain\Reports).

When should I use this screen?

You should establish report groups only if you want to assign report archive security rights that will override the module/application/result set/action/report rights that you assigned to users/user groups during initialization. FAQs

How can I change or delete report archive group data in this screen?

If you delete a report group from this screen that is not in use in the Report Archive Security Rights screen, the system will automatically delete all reports assigned to that report group.

Field Descriptions

Report Groups

Use the fields in the Report Group table window to review existing and establish new report group IDs, names, and descriptions.

Report Group ID *

This field is not individually editable for existing data.  (To delete an existing report group ID, including all related data for that ID, you must delete the row.)

To add a new report group ID, enter up to 30 alphanumeric characters to specify the ID.

Report Group Name *

For a new report group, enter up to 60 characters to provide a name.

For an existing report group, you can edit the data in this field as desired.

You can click on the Notes icon at the end of this field to add up to 254 characters/lines of additional information relative to the report group.

Description

For a new report group, enter up to 254 characters to provide a description.

For an existing report group, you can edit the data in this field as desired.

You can click on the Notes icon at the end of this field to add up to 254 characters/lines of descriptive information relative to the report group.

Unassigned Reports

Use the fields in the Unassigned Reports table window to view the unassigned reports that are eligible to be assigned, as well as to select additional reports to add to a new or existing report group.

Report Name

This non-editable field displays the name of the unassigned report.  

You can select any report(s) from this list to link with the report archive group ID.

Report

This non-editable field displays the short and more technical name of the unassigned report.  

You can select any report(s) from this list to link with the report group ID.

Report Category Name

This non-editable field displays the report category name of the unassigned report.  

Report categories are established in the Report Categories screen (Administration\Maintain\Reports).

You can select any report(s) from this list to link with the report group ID.

Archive Category Name

This non-editable field displays the archive category name of the unassigned report.  

Report archive categories are established in the Report Archive Categories screen (Administration\Maintain\Reports).

You can select any report(s) from this list to link with the report group ID.

Select

Once you have selected the report to move from the Unassigned Reports table window to the Assigned Reports table window, click on the Select pushbutton to initiate the action.

This action enables you to select the specific system-designated report(s) that should make up each report group.

Alternately, you can perform a Lookup directly from the Report field in the Assigned Reports table window to assign a report to the report group.

Assigned Reports

Use the fields in the Assigned Reports table window to view the reports already assigned to the selected report archive group ID.

Report Name *

Once you have selected the report to move from the Unassigned Reports table window to the Assigned Reports table window and have clicked on the Select pushbutton, the selected report name displays in this field.

This field is not editable in this table window, but you can click on the Notes icon at the end of this field to view 254 characters of additional information relative to this report.

Report *

Once you have selected the report to move from the Unassigned Reports table window to the Assigned Reports table window and have clicked on the Select pushbutton, the selected report ID displays in this non-editable field.

Report Category Name

This non-editable field displays the report category name of the unassigned report.  

Report categories are established in the Report Categories screen (Administration\Maintain\Reports).

Archive Category Name

This non-editable field displays the archive category name of the unassigned report.  

Report archive categories are established in the Report Archive Categories screen (Administration\Maintain\Reports).

* A red asterisk denotes a required field.  

Table Information

Changes to this screen update the W_RPT_GROUP_LIST (Report Groups) table and the W_RPT_GROUP_LINKS (Report Links to Groups) table.
