Use this screen to create the cost and base account/organization combinations that have been entered in the Pool Cost Creation and Pool Base Creation screens. In the Pool Cost Creation (Projects\Maintain\Allocations) and Pool Base Creation (Projects\Maintain\Allocations) screens, you can use wildcards to designate the accounts and organizations that will compose your cost pool setup. You can also enter the associated allocation and variance combinations. After entering this data in the setup screens, use the Create Pool Links screen to create the different combinations. After you create the combinations, you can review and fine-tune them, if necessary, in the Cost Pools screen (Projects\Maintain\Allocations), using the Pool Cost and Pool Base subtasks. You cannot use this screen to delete or change cost pool information; you can only create new combinations, which have been entered in the setup screens. To make changes to the combinations, use the subtasks of the Cost Pools (Projects\Maintain\Allocations) screen.
Note: If an account/org combination is not found in the ORG_ACCT table, the system displays a soft warning. Use the Print icon to print or view an error report. |
Use this screen whenever you enter new account/organization combinations in either the Pool Cost Creation (Projects\Maintain\Allocations) or Pool Base Creation (Projects\Maintain\Allocations) screens. You should review the Pool Base Creation and Pool Cost Creation screens and run this process each month to ensure that any additions or changes to the account/organization structure are incorporated in the pool structure.
Use the fields in this block to create a new parameter ID or to retrieve a previously saved parameter ID. A parameter ID represents a set of screen selection parameters. Once you have saved a parameter ID and its related parameters, you can retrieve them using Query.
You can use the retrieved parameters to produce reports and run processes more efficiently and with greater consistency. Many users save a unique set of parameters for each different way they run a report or process. If you select a previously saved parameter ID or parameter description, the associated saved screen selection parameters will automatically display as selection defaults. You can change any of the associated selection defaults as necessary.
Enter, or use Query to select, a parameter ID of up to 15 alphanumeric characters. You should choose characters for your parameter ID that help identify the type of selections you made in the screen, such as “PERIOD” or “QUARTERLY.”
When you save your record, all the selections made in the screen are stored with the parameter ID. Later, you can retrieve the parameter using Query.
You can use the parameter to produce reports and run processes more efficiently because you can select the parameter ID with its previously defined screen selections. Once the default selections display in the screen, you can override the defaults as necessary.
Enter, or use Query to select, a parameter description of up to 30 alphanumeric characters.
