Use this screen to impose a ceiling on the number of hours that are used in the calculation of revenue and billings, for each labor category for a project. These ceilings will be used in the calculation of any "Loaded Labor Hours" formulas. You cannot enter separate hours ceilings for revenue and billings.
Enter ceiling hours here at a labor category level ONLY. These ceilings are separate from any ceilings that are required at an Employee/Labor Category level or a Vendor/Labor Category level, and entry of ceilings at both levels could cause a conflict.
Note: Hours ceilings should be placed at the revenue/billing level or below. Hours ceilings above the revenue and billing levels will not be recognized by the Calculate Bills (Projects\Process\Billing) or Compute Revenue (Projects\Process\Revenue) processes. |
The Clone Record icon is available in this screen.
Use this screen to initially set up ceilings on hours that can be used in the calculation of billing and revenue. Complete this screen after you have set up the project in the Basic Info screen in the Project User Flow (Projects\Maintain\Project) and after you have set up the PLCs in the Project Labor Categories (PLCs) screen (Projects\Maintain\Labor Categories).
Additional maintenance of the data on this screen is required only if changes or additions must be made. You must recalculate revenue and/or billings after you have made changes or additions in this screen.
Use the table window in this block to enter the ceilings on direct hours.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the Project Labor Categories (PLCs) to which ceiling hours will be applied. The only PLCs that are valid for data entry in this field are those that were assigned to the project in the Assign PLC to Projects screen (Project User Flow).
If you assigned PLCs to the top-level project in the Assign PLC to Projects screen and you selected the Use Top Level Work Force checkbox in the Basic Project Info screen for the project entered, only those PLCs that are assigned to the top-level project are valid for data entry in this field. If you did not assign PLCs either to the project and you selected the Use Top Level Work Force checkbox in the Basic Project Info screen, all PLCs that were defined in the Basic Info screen in the Project User Flow (Projects\Maintain\Project) are valid for data entry in this field.
Please note that the Use Top Level Work Force checkbox in the Basic Project Info screen does not apply to ceilings. The revenue and billings programs will not look for ceilings at the top level of the project if this checkbox is selected. The Use Top Level Work Force checkbox applies only to PLC validation and defaulting.
Hours ceilings should be placed at the revenue/billing level or below. Hours ceilings above the revenue and billing levels will not be recognized by the Calculate Bills (Projects\Process\Billing\Calculate Bills) or Compute Revenue (Projects\Process\Revenue\Compute Revenue) processes.
This non-editable field displays the description of each PLC entered in the Labor Category field.
Note: If you defined a project-specific PLC description, it will display in this column. Otherwise, the global PLC description displays in this column by default. |
Enter the ceiling hours for the labor category. Ceiling hours can be positive or zero. A blank will be translated to a "0.00" hour ceiling. To ensure that no ceiling hours are imposed for a given labor category, make no entry on that row.
* A red asterisk denotes a required field.
Changes to this screen update the CEIL_DIR_HRS (Ceilings on Direct Hours) table.
