Use this screen to enter foreign currency exchange rates by period. You can also use this screen to calculate period-average rates if you are tracking daily rates.
You can use this screen at any time, but we suggest that you use this screen immediately after the period ending date in order to use the updated rates in the end-of-period valuation of your transactions.
Use the fields in this block to specify the period rate group.
Use Query to populate the screen with data. You created the rate group in the Exchange Rate Groups screen.
The rate group description will display in the unnamed field to the right.
This non-editable field displays the fiscal year.
Period *
This non-editable field displays the fiscal period.
The fields in this block display information based on what you entered in the Period Rate Group Information block.
This field displays the rate source that is currently linked to your selected Rate Group ID. You created this rate source in the Exchange Rate Sources screen and selected it for use in the Multicurrency Settings screen.
The rate source description displays in the field to the right.
This field displays the period start date based on the Fiscal Year and Period combination you selected.
This field displays the period end date based on the Fiscal Year and Period combination you selected.

Select the New Record icon on the toolbar to start a new row.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the currency code that will be translated. Only those combinations of from/to currencies that you created in the Exchange Rate Groups screen are permitted in this table.

Enter the exchange rate to be used for period-end currency conversion.
Enter the exchange rate to be used for period average currency conversion.
Enter any notes (up to 254 alphanumeric characters) to be used in reference to this currency conversion.
This column displays the formal name of the currency code in the Currency From column.
This column displays the formal name of the currency code in the Currency To column.
Select a line in the table window, then select this pushbutton to create a new line in the table window with the Currency From and the Currency To columns reversed.

Changes to this screen update the RT_BY_PD table.
