Employee User-Defined Information

What can I do in this screen?

Use this screen to view or enter employee information based on the labels you created in the Employee User-Defined Labels screen.

You can use the Values field to enter data specific to these labels.  The Values field is the only editable field is this screen; all other fields are non-editable.

You must click the Query icon and perform a search in order to retrieve record data in this application.

When should I use this screen?

Use this screen after you create employee records in the Employee User Flow application; in addition, you must initialize the Employee User-Defined Labels screen before using this program.

Currently, you can use this screen to create Impromptu reports.

Field Descriptions

Employee *

Use the Query icon to select the employee ID. The employee name displays in the adjacent, non-editable field.

User-Defined Info

Data Type

This field, which you defined in the Employee User-Defined Labels screen, displays the data type that determines which category of text is allowed in the Values field.

There are three data types:

Text - This data type allows you to enter alphanumeric text.

Numeric -  This data type allows you to enter numbers only.

Date - This data type allows you to enter a date in the MM/DD/YYYY format.

Labels

This field displays up to 20 alphanumeric characters that you established in the Employee User-Defined Labels screen.

The label is similar to a field heading.

Values

Enter, or use Lookup to select, a value.

If the Data Type field displays "T" (Text) and the Validated Text field displays a "Y" (Yes), enter, or use Lookup to select, text for this label that was established in the Employee User-Defined Labels screen.

If the Data Type field displays "T" (Text) and the Validated Text field displays "N" (No), alphanumeric text can be entered without validation.

If the Data Type field displays "D" (Date), enter a date.  

If the Data Type field displays "N" (Numeric), enter numbers.

Costpoint Validation Field

This field displays the table name that was selected in the Employee User-Defined Labels screen.  

Table data is displayed in the Lookup associated with the Values field.

Validated Text

This field displays a "Y" (Yes) if entries for this label are restricted to specific alphanumeric text established in the Employee User-Defined Labels screen in the Validated Text subtask.

Required

This field displays a "Y" (Yes) if the user-defined information in the Values field is required.

* A red asterisk denotes a required field.

Table Information

Changes to this screen update the GENL_UDEF (General User Defined Info) table.
