Pay Type Restrictions

What can I do in this screen?

Use this screen to disable pay types for a specific project, labor location/local, and labor group/union.

A pay type is a designation used to calculate labor expenses for both hourly and salaried employees.  Overtime, for example, is a pay type. If overtime is not authorized for a specific government contract at a certain location, for instance, you should add the overtime pay type to this screen.  

This screen is available if you selected the Enable Pay Type Restrictions checkbox in the Labor Settings screen. You must select this checkbox before you can add pay type restrictions in this screen.

When should I use this screen?

Initialize this screen before you enter labor-related data in any Costpoint application.  

Field Descriptions

Project  *

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the project associated with this pay type restriction.  

Project Name

This non-editable field automatically displays the name you defined for this project.

Labor Location/Local

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the labor location/local associated with this pay type restriction. This field is available only if you selected the Require Labor Location on Timesheet checkbox in the Labor Settings screen.

If this field does not contain data (and labor location/locals are required), the row will apply to all labor locations/locals associated with the project and labor group/union.

Note: This field will be labeled Local if you selected the Enable Union Functionality checkbox in the Labor Settings screen. If you did not select this checkbox, this field will be labeled Labor Location.

Labor Loc Description

This non-editable field automatically displays the description you defined for this labor location/local.

Labor Group/Union

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the labor group/union associated with this restriction. If this field does not contain data, the row will apply to all labor groups/unions associated with the project and location.

Note: This field will be labeled Union if you selected the Enable Union Functionality checkbox in the Labor Settings screen. If you did not select this checkbox, this field will be labeled Labor Group.

Labor Group/Union Description

This non-editable field automatically displays the description you defined for this labor group/union.

Pay Type *

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the pay type to be restricted for this project, location/local, or labor group/union.

Pay Type Description

This non-editable field automatically displays the description you defined for this pay type.

Note:  Since the  Labor Settings screen is not available in this web version, you must make settings changes in the client/server version.

After you complete your settings modifications, you must return to the web version and access the Reload Global Settings screen (Administration\Utilities\System Administration\Reload Global Settings). This utility establishes continuity between the web and client/server environments.

Select the appropriate checkbox and click the Action icon to execute synchronization.

Table Information

Changes to this screen update the PAY_TYPE_RESTRICT (Pay Type Restrictions) table.
