The auto-adjust functionality plays an integral role in the calculation of labor rates and labor costs. The auto-adjust feature synchronizes timesheet data with the data in the Employee Salary Information record; therefore, when you execute the Compute Payroll program for salaried employees there will be no pay variance.
If, for example, a salaried employee (who is not eligible for overtime) works 50.00 hours in a week, you may auto-adjust his pay at 100% if the employee is to be paid his standard salary amount based on data in the Employee Salary Information screen (People\Maintain\Employee). By auto-adjusting the pay at 100%, the employee's effective hourly rate is reduced by dividing 50 hours into the employee's salary amount displayed in the Employee Salary Information screen.
You must initialize this screen before entering timesheets.

Allow Overtime for Salaried, FLSA Exempt Employees
Select this checkbox to allow salaried, FLSA exempt employees to charge "Overtime" pay types, as defined in the Pay Types screen (People\Configure\Labor).
Generally, salaried FLSA exempt employees do not receive compensated overtime.
Select this checkbox to allow salaried FLSA exempt employees to use a pay type marked as "Overtime" in the Pay Types screen; otherwise, an error condition will occur when you enter timesheets if a salaried employee charges cost to an overtime pay type.
Overtime Premium Recast Default Pay Type
Select this checkbox to use a company-wide pay type for recasting overtime premiums. This is the pay type used in the Overtime Premium Recast screen (People\Configure\Overtime).
Overtime premium recast refers to the ability to reassign the premium portion of overtime charges to a specific recast project, account and/or pay type that is different from the charge accounts noted on the original timesheets.
The pay type defined in this screen is used if a specific pay type has not been established in the Pay Types screen for the pay type charged on the timesheet line being recast. Therefore, if a pay type is not established in the Overtime Premium Recast screen, the pay type you enter here will be used when you execute the Recast Premium Timesheet Lines utility.
You should leave this field blank if you are not using the Overtime Premium Recast screen.
