Use this screen to define fringe modify codes. A union fringe is dollar amount paid to union members in lieu of benefits, such as health insurance, vacation, and retirement.
A fringe modify code is a designation you establish in order to change the base used to calculate the number of hours associated with a fringe. You can make this change by adding or subtracting any associated pay types found on the timesheet, as identified in this application.
In this screen, you define fringe modify codes and related descriptions. Next, you associate the fringe modify code with an existing pay type.
If, for instance, a pay type is assigned to a fringe modify code and you are subtracting this pay type, the hours and labor associated with the pay type will not be included when calculating the fringe.
When you process payroll, the information you define here is used in conjunction with data in the Fringe Table subtask of the Union Profiles screen to ensure proper calculation of the fringe.
To access this screen, you must have selected the Enable Union Functionality checkbox in the Labor Settings screen. If this checkbox is not selected, this screen will be unavailable.
You must initialize the Pay Types screen before defining entries in this application.

Note: Since the Labor Settings screen is not available in this web version, you must make settings changes in the client/server version. After you complete your settings modifications, you must return to the web version and access the Reload Global Settings screen (Administration\Utilities\System Administration\Reload Global Settings). This utility establishes continuity between the web and client/server environments. Select the appropriate checkbox and click the Action icon to execute synchronization. |
