Closing Costpoint Client/Server
In client/server, any of the following actions will close Costpoint:
Select "Exit Costpoint" from the application’s pull-down menu. This will close the screen and display the main menu.
Select the Close button () on the toolbar. This will close the screen and display the main menu.
Select "Exit Costpoint" from the main menu’s pull-down menu.
Closing an Application in Costpoint Client/Server
Any of the following actions will close an application in client/server:
Click on the Close button () on the form title bar. This will close the screen and display the most recent window.
Select the Close button ( ) from the toolbar. This will close the screen and display the main menu.
Select Close from the menu. This will close the screen and display the main menu.
If the Multiple Active Functions method is Always Close in Costpoint’s Systems Settings screen, selecting another application from the main menu or from your MyMenu list will automatically close the application and open the new application.
If the Multiple Active Functions method is Ask Each Time in Costpoint’s Systems Settings screen, you can opt to close the current application after opening a different application from the main menu or from your MyMenu list.
Note: If edits have been made in the application, you can choose to save or lose those edits when you close that application. |
Closing a Subtask in Costpoint Client/Server
Any of the following actions will close a subtask in client/server:
Click on the Close button ( ) on the subtask title bar. This closes the subtask and returns you to the main screen.
Select the OK pushbutton ( ) on the bottom of the subtask. This closes the subtask and keeps any edits made in the subtask.
Select the Cancel pushbutton ( ) on the bottom of the subtask. This closes the subtask, and any edits made in the subtask are lost. Note that this button is not available in non-editable subtasks.
Note: When you close an application, the system automatically closes all related subtasks. |
Closing Costpoint Web
Any of the following actions will close Costpoint web:
Select the Log Off icon ( ) on the toolbar. This will log you out of Costpoint web and take you to a window that confirms your successful logoff (see below).
Close the browser window. This will log you out of Costpoint web. A window will automatically display to confirm your successful logoff.
[We recommend using the Log Off function, however, instead of just closing the browser. Closing the browser will not warn you of unsaved changes, and your session will remain on the server, consuming resources until timed out.]
Select "Log Off" from the Windows File Menu (File/Log Off) or use the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+F12.
Note: You can log into Costpoint web again by clicking on the "Log in to Costpoint" link. |
Closing an Application in Costpoint Web
Any of the following actions will close an application in Costpoint:
Select the Close Application button ( ) on the toolbar. This will close the screen and display the Costpoint web main screen. If edits have been made in the application, you can choose to save or lose those edits when you close the application
Select "Close Application" from the Windows File Menu (File/Close Application) or use the shortcut (Ctrl+W).
Select a different application from the menu. If edits have been made in the application, you can choose to save or lose those edits when you close the application.
Select the Log Off button ( ) on the toolbar. This will close the application, log you out of Costpoint Web, and take you to a window that confirms your successful logoff. If edits have been made in the application, you can choose to save or lose those edits when you log out.
Close the browser window. This will close the application, log you out of Costpoint web, and take you to a window that confirms your successful logoff. If edits have been made in the application, you will not be prompted to save those edits when you close the browser window.
Closing a Subtask in Costpoint Web
Either of the following actions will close a subtask in Costpoint web:
Select the OK ( ) button on the bottom of the subtask. This will close the subtask, keep any edits made in the subtask, and return you to the main screen.
Select a different subtask within the application. This will close the subtask in which you are working.
Note: The system automatically closes a subtask if you close the application to which it belongs, if you log out of Costpoint web, or if you close the browser window. |
