Use this subtask to override Costpoint's pre-installed report defaults. This subtask provides the following reporting capabilities:
Sets system defaults for paper size and margins.
Changes paper size, orientation, and margins for any given report.
Saves paper size, orientation, and margins in report/process parameters to be used with process server.
Provides support for A4 paper (210mm x 297mm).
In Costpoint functions that have a report, you can open the Page Setup dialog box by selecting Page Setup from the File menu. By using the dialog box, you can customize the page settings for individual Costpoint functions, instead of using the system report defaults that are set by this subtask.
Costpoint is shipped with the following pre-installed defaults:
Paper Size: Letter 8 ½ x 11 in
All Margins: 0.5 in
Orientation: Landscape
Overriding any of the report parameters on the Page Setup subtask (at either the system or function level) will result in a dynamic creation of a temporary QRP report file each time a report is printed. Creating a temporary QRP file will take extra time (~10 – 60 sec) and require additional resources on a client workstation.
Changing paper size, orientation, or margins will not result in a re-positioning of data on a report; Costpoint does not have a "best fit" logic for reports. Changing these items may result in data being truncated or extra free space on the report. Therefore, you should use this feature with care and verify the printed report.
Please note that if the Page Setup settings are saved for a particular Costpoint function, these settings are stored together with the rest of the parameters on the screen. So if a Costpoint function is brought up with a saved parameter, the Page Setup settings will reflect the settings that were saved at that time - and those settings may be different from the system defaults.
Use this drop-down box to select the desired paper size.
If your printer and printer driver allow, use your printer's setup features to change the page source.
Use these radio buttons to choose between a Portrait or Landscape orientation.
Enter the desired page margins.
