CLEAR USER(S)

Use the upper table to clear the Costpoint Seat Assignment table of user and station assignment combinations for sessions that are no longer active. User ID/station number combinations are not removed from this table if a user exits from Costpoint without closing all open functions (for example, by rebooting the workstation while a Costpoint function is still active).  If the User Type is "Web," users are also cleared from the Costpoint Web App Status Info Table.

Use the lower table to clear users in the Costpoint Web App Status Info Table that are not already displayed in the Seat Assignment Table.

Note: Entries show up in the lower table only if there is no associated entry in the Seat Assignment Table.

When the screen first appears, it shows the user and station number for all sessions recorded as currently active. After confirming that a listed session is no longer active, you can remove it from the table by marking the row for deletion (highlight the row by clicking on it and then press [CTRL+D]). When you select the Save button on the toolbar, all the rows marked for deletion will be deleted.

Rows in the Costpoint Web App Status Info Table are not deleted; rather, the system updates the following fields to clear the user:

Include this utility as part of your system administration maintenance procedures because there is a high probability that users will leave Costpoint without going through the normal exit procedure.

Hint: If enough users abnormally exit Costpoint, you may find that the number of licenses in use has reached the maximum limit in the Seat Assignment and/or Borrowed Licenses database table, even when no one is using Costpoint. No one will be able to start up functions because Costpoint thinks the user license limits have been reached. If this occurs, you need to use the Stand-Alone System Administration Utility to bypass the license check and run the Clear User(s) screen to clear the inactive sessions. Users can then resume running Costpoint functions.
