SUBMITTING AND MANAGING QUEUE ENTRIES

Costpoint users may submit queue entries in two ways:

  1.  From the Submit Process to Queue screen.

  2.  Directly from a report, compute, or posting function.

Submitting Queue Entries from Costpoint Process Management

Start the Submit Process to Queue screen. Use Find or Query to retrieve a defined process. Select the Submit pushbutton. The process will be submitted to the queue.

Submitting Queue Entries From a Function

When in a report, compute, or posting function, you can submit the parameters on the screen to a process queue. To do so, select Submit to Queue under Options in the menu bar. The Submit to Queue screen displays, with some of the screen options disabled. Choose the queue, set the remaining items on the screen, and select OK. The parameters will be submitted to the queue.

Queue Entry Management

All queue entries can be changed and deleted by the Costpoint administrator. With the proper authorization, a user's queue entries can be changed and deleted by that user.

Anyone with full access to the Maintain Queues screen can change and delete queue entries for any user. Otherwise, you can change only those entries you have made in the Maintain Queues screen or in the Change/Monitor Process Status screen.

The following things can be changed:

  1. Status

  2. Time Scheduled and Date Scheduled

Status Change

The user can change the status between "Hold" and "Pending."

Only the server can change a status to "Executing." If the server was terminated abnormally, any processes being executed will have their status changed to "Aborted" when you log back into the Process Server. You can change the Status from "Aborted" to "Pending" or "Hold" in either the Change/Monitor Process Status screen or Maintain Queues screen.

Time and Date Schedule Change

Change the time and date scheduled only when the entry is not executing. You cannot change the scheduled time and date once the process is executing.
