SERVER OPERATION MANAGEMENT

You can change a server's status in the Change Server Status screen. You can change the status between "Active, "Hold," and "Inactive." When you change it to "Active," it will wait until the end of the current one-minute wait interval and then look for queue entries to execute. When you change it to "Hold," it will finish executing the current queue entry (if it is executing one) and then wait until the status is changed to "Active" again.

You can also stop a server from executing queue entries by changing the queue's status to "Hold." This will suspend executions on all servers servicing that queue.

You can also stop a server from executing queue entries by putting all the current queue entries on "Hold," or putting their requested start times in the future. However, your users can submit new queue entries at any time, and these entries will execute.

You can completely shut down a server by setting its status to "Stop" in the Change Server Status screen. If the server is currently idle, you can also shut it down by selecting the Stop pushbutton on the Costpoint Process Server status screen.
