WORKER'S COMP STATE RATES

Use this screen to set up your company-specific workers' compensation information, such as policy number, policy start and end dates, experience modifier, calculation method, and workers' comp codes rates, by state.

Use this screen after you have established state code information in the Maintain States and Provinces screen in Costpoint System Administration, and after you have established worker's compensation codes in the Worker's Comp Codes screen in Costpoint Labor.

State

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the two-character state code. All state codes are validated against the system's State table. This is a required field.

State Name

This field displays the name of the state.

Policy Number

Enter the policy number assigned to you by the state or by your insurance company. You can enter up to 20 characters.

Experience Modifier

Enter your company's experience modifier related to this state and your policy. This experience modifier will be given to you by the state or by your insurance company. You can enter up to five places to the right of the decimal, but the system will round your entry to two places to the right of the decimal when you tab from the field.

Policy Start Date

Enter the start date of your workers' comp policy. This is not a required field. The system format for the date is MM/DD/YYYY.

Policy End Date

Enter the end date of your workers' comp policy. This is not a required field. The system format for date is MM/DD/YYYY.

Calculation Method

Ceiling Amount

Enter the wage ceiling amount. This is the wage at which workers' comp calculations will stop. This is a required field.

Exclude Premium Portion

Select this checkbox to exclude the premium portion of overtime in the workers' comp premium calculation.

Worker's Comp State

SUTA State 

Select this radio button to use the state in the Employee Taxes screen in Costpoint Employee.

Overtime State 

Select this radio button to use the default Overtime State from the Timesheet Info subtask of the Salary Info and History screen in Costpoint Employee.

WC Modify Code

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the workers' comp modify code (for pay types other than overtime premium) for exclusion in the premium calculation.

Worker's Comp

After selecting the New Line button on the toolbar, enter, or use Lookup to select, the workers' comp code you want to include for this policy. Worker's compensation codes are established in the Worker's Comp Codes screen in Costpoint Labor, and the value in this field is validated against the Worker's Comp table.

Worker's Comp Description

The description of the entered worker's comp code is displayed.

Rate

Enter the rate (percentage) associated with the designated workers' comp code. This rate is multiplied by the associated payroll dollars and the Experience Modifier to arrive at the Premium. You can enter four places to the right of the decimal and two places to the left of the decimal ("00.0000").
