Use this screen to establish standard units of measure and their applicable conversions. An item can have different units of measure at its selling point, ordering point, and inventory stocking point. For example, an item can be purchased by the dozen and stocked to inventory by the piece. This table defines the conversion formula from one unit of measure to another. The conversions are used throughout Costpoint Product Definition, Purchasing, Inventory, Sales Order Entry, and Procurement Planning. Additionally, part-specific unit of measure conversions can be set up in the Basic Part Data screen in Costpoint Product Definition.
Set up this function during Costpoint initialization and maintain it when unit of measure codes need to be established or when existing codes need to be modified.
Enter a code containing up to three alphanumeric characters for the unit of measure being established. The code is required and must be unique. A unit of measure code is assigned to an item when it is established in Costpoint Product Definition as a part, service, or good. The unit of measure is used throughout the Costpoint Materials folder.
