Use this screen to view and change the status of a Costpoint process server.
After a user logs onto a process server, the Server, Status, and Process Queue fields in this screen will be automatically populated. Initially, the server will have an "Active" status that indicates it is ready to execute jobs submitted to the queue. When a server is stopped, its status is changed to "Inactive." This screen allows you to change the process server's status to "Hold," "Inactive," or "Stop."
Enter this screen when you need to change a process server's status. You can use this screen to put a server on hold until you want it to execute the processes in the queue. This gives you more control over when processes will be run. You can also use this screen to stop a process server, which might be especially useful if the server is in a remote location.
This non-editable field displays the unique identifier assigned to a process server when you log onto the server. The identifier can be any meaningful name.
This field displays the current status of the server, i.e., "Active," "Hold," "Inactive," or "Stop."
If the Status field displays "Active," the server is available to process queue entries. It is either idle, waiting for an entry to be submitted to the queue, or executing a queue entry. If it is executing a queue entry, it will be able to execute another queue entry when it finishes the current one.
If the Status field displays "Hold," the server has been set up but is not currently available to process queue entries. It is either idle, waiting to be activated, or executing a queue entry. If it is executing a queue entry, it will not execute another queue entry when it finishes with the current one.
If the Status field displays "Inactive," the server has been set up but is currently shut down. If the Status field displays "Stop," the server will be stopped. If a server is executing a queue entry and you change its status to "Stop," it will shut down when it finishes executing the entry.
This non-editable field displays the name of the queue currently being serviced by the process server shown on this row.
This non-editable field displays the specific time the server (if active) will stop polling the database for queue entries.
This non-editable field displays the specific time the server (if active) will start polling the database for queue entries.
