Use this screen to impose a ceiling on the number of hours, by vendor/by labor category, that are used in the calculation of revenue and billings for a project. These ceilings will be used in the calculation of any Loaded Labor Hours formulas. You cannot enter separate hours ceilings for revenue and billings.
Enter ceiling hours here are at a vendor/labor category level only. These ceilings are separate from any ceilings that are required at the higher Labor Category level. Entry of ceilings at both levels could cause a conflict.
Use this screen to set up ceilings on the vendor hours that can be used in the calculation of billing and revenue. You should also use this screen to set up ceilings on vendor hours worked for a given project.
Complete this screen after you have done the following: set up the project in the Basic Info screen (Projects » Project Setup » Project Master), set up the vendor in the Maintain Vendors screen (Accounting » Accounts Payable » Vendor Info or Materials » Purchasing » Vendor Info or Materials » Procurement Planning » Vendor Info), and set up the PLCs in the Set Up Project Labor Categories (PLC) screen (Projects » Project Setup » Project Labor).
Additional maintenance on this screen is required only if an hours ceiling changes or if a new one is added.
Enter, or use to select, a valid project for which to enter data.
If a project has not been set to allow charging, you can still enter it in this field. Projects that do not allow charging are not available for selection in . The ceilings should be placed at or below the revenue and billing level. This is a required field. The field to the right of the project number displays the project description from the Basic Info screen (Projects » Project Setup » Project Master).
Enter, or use to select, the vendor (subcontractor) to which the ceiling hours apply. The same vendor can appear more than one time in this column, as long as a separate Labor Cat is identified.
If you selected the Project Work Force Required check box in the Basic Info screen (Projects » Project Setup » Project Master), only vendors set up in the Project Vendor Work Force screen (Projects » Project Setup » Project Labor) are valid for data entry in this field.
If you selected the Use Top Level Work Force check box in the Basic Info screen, only vendors set up in the Project Vendor Work Force at the top level of the project are valid for data entry. Please note that the revenue and billing programs will look at or below the revenue and billing levels for the vendor hours ceilings. The Use Top Level Work Force check box in the Maintain Project Master screen (Projects » Project Setup » Project Master) or the Basic Info screen does not influence the placement of the ceilings. This check box is only for PLC validation and defaulting. Otherwise, all vendors are valid for data entry.
This is a required field.
This column displays the name of each vendor displayed in the Vendor column. The vendor name is defined in the Maintain Vendors screen (Accounting » Accounts Payable » Vendor Info or Materials » Purchasing » Vendor Info or Materials » Procurement Planning » Vendor Info).
Enter, or use to select, the Project Labor Categories (PLCs) to which ceiling hours will be applied.
Before selecting the Project Work Force Required check box in the Basic Info screen (Projects » Project Setup » Project Master), you should have already set up the vendor PLC in the Assign PLC to Vendor Work Force screen (Projects » Project Setup » Project Labor) for the project.
You should set up the PLC for the vendor in the Assign PLC to Vendor Work Force screen for the top level of the project before selecting the Project Work Force Required and the Use Top Level Work Force check boxes in the Basic Info screen.
If you did not select the Project Work Force Required check box in the Basic Info screen, any PLC set up in the Set Up Project Labor Categories (PLC) screen (Projects » Project Setup » Project Labor) is valid for data entry.

Enter the ceiling hours for the Vendor/Labor Cat combination. Ceiling hours can be a positive number or zero. A blank will be translated to a "0.00" hour ceiling. To ensure that no ceiling hours are imposed for a given combination, make no entry on that row.
