Use this subtask to enter the levels, level segment lengths, and level descriptions of each project. You cannot enter levels other than the top level in the Maintain Project Master screen (Projects » Project Setup » Project Master) until they have been set up in this table.
This subtask is required only if the project levels, lengths, or level descriptions differ from the default setup in the Project Segment Lengths table window in the Project Settings screen (Projects » Project Setup » Controls).
This non-editable field displays the project from the main screen. The project name appears in the non-editable window to the right.
The setup in the Project Segment Lengths table window in the Project Settings screen (Projects » Project Setup » Controls) is the default for this screen. You can edit this table only when the project entered is at the top-level.
This field automatically displays the level number of each segment as you add information to the table. Since the overall length of the project is 30 characters, a maximum of 15 segments, or levels, is possible, including delimiters. For top-level projects, this information is required to establish the project structure.
This column displays the user-specified length of each segment, or level, in the project. Note that the length of the first segment, or top level, must correspond to the length for the level 1 segment in the Project Segment Lengths table window in the Project Settings screen (Projects » Project Setup » Controls). In other words, the length of the top level must be the same for all projects; only the lower levels can have varying segment lengths.
This column displays the description of each level, and will be used during report generation to display the name of the level selected for reporting. For each level established, this is a required field.
This subtask updates the PROJ_LVL table.
