Use this subtask to fill budgeted amounts into selected subperiods. For a given project/organization/account combination, the system will spread a specified budgeted direct and/or fee amount across a specified range of periods by replicating it for each subperiod within the specified range. You can also escalate the value with an escalation factor. This escalation will occur each subperiod within the specified range. The initial period and subperiod selected contain the base amount updated by the fill program. Each succeeding subperiod within the range selected will be escalated by the factor entered in this subtask. For example, assume the program is run to update periods 1 - 4, with $100 per subperiod. Assume 2 subperiods per period, and an escalation factor of 2%. Period 1, subperiod 1 will contain the base amount of $100. Period 1, subperiod 2 will contain $102. Period 2, subperiod 1 will contain will contain $104.04.
You can enter budgets any time after setting up projects and budget revisions. This screen updates the Project Budget Direct table with amounts entered. Amounts existing in the Project Budget Direct table for the same project, organization, account, fiscal year, period, subperiod, and budget revision selected for update will be updated. If no record exists in the Project Budget Direct table, one will be created.
The program will create these records from either the Project/Org/Account or the Org/Account table depending on user setup. Therefore, you must exercise care when running this utility. For example, if you update all accounts for all subperiods, the system creates a record in the Project Direct Budget table for all accounts in either the Project/Org/Account or Org/Account table (for the selected org only) for all subperiods of the selected fiscal year. For example, assume you are not validating orgs for project charging. If you have 100 accounts linked to this organization, there are 100 rows in the Org/Account table for this organization. If you have 12 periods in your fiscal year and 4 subperiods for each accounting period, you have a total of 48 subperiods. If you fill all accounts for all subperiods, you will create 4,800 rows in the Project Direct table. The maximum table window size is 1,000 rows.

Enter the escalation factor that you want to be used by the program. Note that this factor is applied by subperiod.
