Use this screen to enter provisional part type codes and their descriptions. You will then assign the provisional part type to provisional parts while entering them in the Maintain Provisional Parts screen in either Costpoint Product Definition or Costpoint Materials Estimating.
When accessing this screen for the first time, you will see two system-defined provisional part types: "MFG" (Manufacturer Part) and "VEN" (Vendor Part). You can insert additional type lines into this table.
You must establish provisional part type codes and their descriptions in this screen before entering provisional part data in the Maintain Provisional Parts screen. This screen is also accessible in Costpoint Materials Estimating.
After selecting the New Line button the toolbar, enter up to three alphanumeric characters for the provisional part type code. You will receive an error message if you enter two of the same Type codes in this table. To insert, delete, or undelete lines from this table, use the options in the Line menu.
Enter up to 30 alphanumeric characters that will be used for describing the provisional part Type code.
Enter "M" to classify this provisional part type code as a Manufacturer or "V" to classify it as a Vendor. You can use this value to look up existing manufacturer or vendor part numbers when adding a new provisional part.
The PROV_PART_TYPE table stores the settings from this screen.
