Use this screen to define control settings for the operation of the Serial/Lot tracking in Costpoint Sales Order Entry. Use this feature to enter and report serial numbers of parts delivered on a customer order and/or parts tracked in inventory. You can record serial numbers only for parts that are flagged as requiring SO Configuration Tracking in the Part Serial/Lot Information subtask of the Maintain Parts and Basic Part Data screens in Costpoint Product Definition, or in the Serial/Lot Disposition subtask of the Enter Sales Order Inventory Issues screen. You can maintain the Enter Sales Order Inventory Issues screen in both Costpoint Sales Order Entry and Costpoint Inventory. Additionally, you can populate serial/lot controls in the Serial/Lot Settings screen in Costpoint Inventory. Once serial numbers are collected in the issue screen, you can print them on commercial and DD250 packing slips and invoices. You can also enter lot numbers, but they will not be included in the printed documents.
Set up this screen when initializing Costpoint and before processing inventory transactions and maintain it whenever you need to change serial/lot settings. Settings that are changed and saved in this screen will default to the Serial/Lot Settings screen in Costpoint Inventory (and vice versa).
