Copy Master Production Schedules

Use this screen to copy forecast requirements from an MPS plan, range of parts, range of inventory abbreviations, range of dates, and/or range of warehouses to another plan or to copy prior forecasts to a future period.

This process consists of two steps:

  1. Based on your entries in the From Forecasts and To Forecasts parameters on this screen, Costpoint populates a worktable when you select the Process action.

  2. Click the Review pushbutton on the screen to display the Review Copied MPS Forecasts subtask, which makes it possible for you to review values. You can update or delete the worktable rows in the subtask before you save them to the database. Note that running this process without saving the worktable values will have no impact on the database. You must click Save on the Review subtask in order to commit the changes to the database.

Except for the MPS Plan code value, the To Forecasts parameters are optional. If they are not entered, the From Forecasts values are used.

For new forecast requirements, the open and original forecast quantities are set to the copied from record’s original forecast quantities (not the current open quantities).

For existing records, if you select the Overwrite Existing Records option, the existing open forecast quantities are set to the copied records original forecast quantities. If you do not select the option, the forecast quantities are not changed.

This field is disabled if the Allow Multiple Revisions for Each Item option is not selected in the Product Definition Corporate Settings subtask of the Product Definition Settings screen.

For instance, if you entered a Starting Need Date of July 1, 2008 and the earliest need date of the copied forecast requirements is January 1, 2008, Costpoint adds six months to the original record’s need date for each new forecast requirement row.

If you do not specify a date in this field, the process does not select any past due forecast requirements.

Warehouse

Enter, or use Lookup to select, the warehouse to which MPS forecasts are copied.  If you leave this field blank, the copied value is used.

This field is disabled if the Copy From Warehouse Range Option does not equal "One."
