Use this screen to establish and maintain the planning codes to associate with specific production plans in Costpoint Material Requirements Planning and Costpoint Master Production Scheduling. You use these codes when creating "what if" scenarios to determine the impact of changes to production plans using a variety of criteria.
New installations of Costpoint always include one MPS Planning code: P – Production. This planning code represents the "official" production plan. This record cannot be deleted. Only planned orders and MPS/MRP action messages generated for the "P" MPS Planning code can be firmed or acted upon. Planned orders and action messages for other MPS Planning codes are for information only.
If MRP Settings require that each company must be planned separately by company, MPS Planning Codes must be set up separately for each company. If MRP plans all companies together, the companies will share all MPS Planning Codes.
Enter a one-character code to be used for "what-if" plans or production scenarios. For example, you might use "1" for "Pre-Production Plan" or "T" for "Test Production Plan."
Enter up to 30 characters of descriptive text for the planning code.
This field displays the date on which the Material Requirements Planning application most recently ran for the specified MPS planning code.
