Use this subtask to view all engineering change notices (regardless of status) referencing the part entered in the main screen header.
This field displays the part ID for the part selected on the main screen. The part description displays in the unlabeled field to the far right.
This field displays the selected part's revision number.
This field displays the ID of the Engineering Change Notice linked to the selected part.
This field displays the revision number for the ECN (i.e., how many times it has been resubmitted for approval).
This field displays a short description of the ECN.
This field displays the status of the ECN, which can be:
Pending—Not yet submitted for approval.
In-Approval—In the approval process, not yet rejected or approved
Approved—ECN has been approved by all necessary approvers
Rejected—ECN has been rejected by an approver.
Documents Updated—ECN has been approved and necessary documents have been updated to reflect the change.
Implemented—Implement ECN process has been run against the approved ECN and all necessary part, document routing and BOM information has been updated in Costpoint.
Closed—ECN closed before implementation.
Void—ECN rejected and voided.
This field displays the ECN type assigned to the ECN. ECN types are defined in the EC Types screen in the Engineering Change Notices module.
This field displays the class assigned to the ECN. Three options are valid:
Class I—A change that impacts a configuration item’s form, fit, or function (part number change is typically required).
Class II—A change that does not impact a configuration item’s form, fit, or function (part number change is not typically required).
Class 1.5—Some organizations use this class for unique cases.
This field displays the priority or importance of the ECN. Priority codes are assigned in the EC Priority screen.
This field displays the code classifying the reason for the ECN. Reason codes are defined in the EC Reason screen.
This field displays the code for the action that the ECN will perform on the part:
A (Add)—The ECN was used to add the part to the part master
C (Change)—The ECN will modify the part characteristics
D (Delete)—The ECN will inactivate the part in the part master
R (Replace)—The ECN will replace an obsolete part with another part
V (New Rev)—The ECN will increase the revision number of the part
O (Obsolete)—The ECN will flag the part as obsolete
This field displays the identifier of the original part that will be affected by the ECN. This field will be empty for records with an action code of "Add." For lines with an action code of "Replace," the original part represents the part that will be replaced.
This field displays the revision number of the part that will be affected by the ECN. For lines with action code of "New Rev," it represents the revision before it is updated.
This field displays the description of the original part that will be affected by the ECN.
This field displays the release status of the original part that will be affected by the ECN: "E" (Estimating), "O" (Obsolete), "P" (Pre-Release), "R" (Released), "S" (Phase-Out), or "U" (Unreleased).
This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) depending whether or not the original part affected by the ECN was active.
This field displays the ID of the part that will replace the original part. This field is blank for lines with an action code of "Change," "Delete," and "Obsolete."
This field displays the revision of the part that will replace the original part. For lines with action code of "New Rev," it represents the revision after it is updated by the ECN.
This field displays the description of the change-to part. For lines with action code of "Add," this field displays the description of the new part being created by the ECN.
This field displays the release status that the change-to part will be assigned by the ECN: "E" (Estimating), "O" (Obsolete), "P" (Pre-Release), "R" (Released), "S" (Phase-Out), or "U" (Unreleased).
This field displays the CAGE code of the change-to part to be added by the ECN.
This field displays "B" (Buy) if the change-to part is normally purchased and "M" (Make) if it is normally manufactured.
This field displays the date on which the changes became effective/are to become effective.
This field displays the code for how existing inventory for the original part will be dispositioned: "S" (Scrap), "R" (Rework), "I" (Reinspect), "N" (No Change), or "V" (Update Rev).
