Substitute Part Inventory Subtask

Use this subtask to view current inventory information for any substitute parts for the part shown in the main screen header. Costpoint checks to see if substitutes are allowed for the selected action message’s part/project. If substitutes are allowed, it then checks to see if project-specific substitutes are defined for that part. If substitutes are not allowed, no substitute parts display. This information is defined in the Part Project Data screen in Product definition. Otherwise it looks at the substitute part data information set up in the Substitute Parts screen in Product Definition. The display includes only inventory quantity information from the selected project(s), unless you select the View All Inventory radio button.

Part

This field displays the ID of the part referenced on the main screen action message. The part description displays in the unlabeled field below this one.

Rev

This field displays the part revision number.

U/M

This field displays the part's default or inventory unit of measure.  

Project

This field displays the inventory project ID of the inventory abbreviation of the selected MPS action message row on the main screen. The project name and abbreviation also display.

Display Option

Use the options in this group box to include only selected inventory projects or all projects in the grid fields. Changing the radio button causes the table window (grid) to repopulate.

View Selected Inv Projects

Select this radio button to view the substitute part's inventory for the inventory project selected of the selected MPS action message row. This option is the default

View All Inventory

Select this radio button to view the substitute part's inventory across all inventory projects.

Table Window

Substitute Part

This field displays the ID of the substitute part.

Rev

This field displays the revision number of the substitute part.

Description

This field displays the description of the substitute part.

U/M

This field displays the substitute part's default or inventory unit of measure. All quantities listed on the row display assuming this unit of measure.

Inventory Abbreviation

This field displays the inventory abbreviation code assigned to the inventory quantities displayed in this row.

Project

This field displays the ID of the inventory project assigned to the inventory quantities displayed in this row.

Net Available Qty

This field displays the net available quantity for the substitute part/inventory abbreviation combination. It is the sum of all the on hand, in inspection, in shipping, on order, on requisition, owed, and planned owed quantities minus the sum of reserved and planned reserved quantities, for the part/inventory abbreviation combination. In Materials Review Board (MRB) inventory is also added if you selected the Incl MRB as Available Inventory checkbox in the Production Control Settings screen in the Production Control application.

Current Available Qty

This field displays the current available quantity for the substitute part/inventory abbreviation combination. It is the sum of on-hand and in-inspection quantities minus the reserved quantity, for the part/inventory abbreviation combination.

On Hand Qty

This field displays the sum of all quantities for the substitute part/inventory abbreviation combination in on-hand locations.

In Inspection Qty

This field displays the sum of all quantities for the substitute part/inventory abbreviation combination in inspection and reinspection locations.

In Shipping Qty

This field displays the sum of all quantities for the substitute part/inventory abbreviation combination in shipping locations.

In MRB Qty

This field displays the sum of all quantities for the substitute part/inventory abbreviation combination in Materials Review Board locations.

On Hold Qty

This field displays the sum of all quantities for the substitute part/inventory abbreviation combination in on-hold locations.

On Order Qty

This field displays the sum of all open order quantities, including both purchase orders and manufacturing orders, for the substitute part/inventory abbreviation combination.

On Req Qty

This field displays the sum of all open purchase requisition quantities for the substitute part/inventory abbreviation combination.

Owed Qty

This field displays the sum of all quantities owed to the substitute part/inventory abbreviation combination via transfer reservations.

Planned Owed Qty

This field displays the sum of all quantities owed to the substitute part/inventory abbreviation combination via unapproved transfer requests.

Reserved Qty

This field displays the sum of all the open quantities reserved against the substitute part/inventory abbreviation combination via reservations (i.e., approved transfer and issue reservations, MO requirements, inventory SO lines, and PO/Req reservations).

Planned Reserved Qty

This field displays the sum of all open quantities reserved against the substitute part/inventory abbreviation combination via unapproved inventory requests.

Inventory Abbreviation Name

This field displays the name of the inventory abbreviation assigned to the inventory quantities displayed in this row.

Project Name

This field displays the name of the inventory project assigned to the inventory quantities displayed in this row.

Project Abbrev

This field displays the abbreviation of the inventory project assigned to the inventory quantities displayed in this row.

Expedite Notes

This field displays free-form notes about the substitute part/inventory abbreviation combination.
